London’s getting a new market and it’s just for retro games

That's Christmas covered

Retro video games have certainly seen an increase in their popularity in recent years, with gamers revelling in the nostalgia that can only come from jaunty chiptunes, questionable graphics, but unquestionably good gameplay. As further proof of the profitability of this popularity, there’s a retro gaming market coming to London this November!

The London Gaming Market will set up shop on November 15th at the Royal National Hotel in Russell Square, run by London Film and Comic Con organisers Showmasters alongside gaming event specialist Replay and Dark Cleo Productions. There will be vendors of all kinds, selling video games, board games, and merchandise from both recent and classic games, but the focus is to be primarily on retro gaming. Maybe you’ll see some of these Gadgette recommended classic video games or board games.

It looks like this isn’t a one off event either; more retro markets are set to run every four months through to November 2016, so if you miss the first one, don’t worry, you’ve been given a few more heart containers.

It’ll cost you at the door to get in (£5 early entry between 11am and 12pm and £2 thereafter) but it’s hardly a great cost for the opportunity to browse legitimate retro hardware and software, especially if you’re not looking for specifics, and talk to people who are just as passionate about retro games as you. Who knows, maybe you’ll make a really great find and strike gold coins.
