There’s a new update for Fallout Shelter

They had to do something to keep your attention until Fallout 4

There’s a new update available for Bethesda’s Fallout Shelter, the free-to-play mobile game. They’ve released a short trailer to go with it.

It looks like there’s a new mode: Survival Mode. The trailer doesn’t go into much detail, but Bethesda describe it as having “more danger” and “more glory” so we think it’s safe to assume it’s an attempt to make the game a little more challenging for those who have grown tired of the normal mode.

Also included in the update is the ability to loot fallen enemies, skip the tutorial, and the chance to encounter the Mysterious Stranger for which you’ll get a bottle cap reward. The ability to have cloud saves has also been added, allowing players to manage their game across multiple devices.

Exclusive to iOS users is a new free character from Fallout 4 called Piper, who’s featured in the trailer, and five free lunchboxes.

Fallout Shelter is free to download on Android and iOS, and Fallout 4 will be available from November 10th.
