It looks like System Shock 3 is coming

Or it's being teased at the very least

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a new System Shock game, in fact, System Shock 2 was released all the way back in 1999. That doesn’t mean there can’t be a third installment, though, and it looks like it might be happening if recent changes to Otherside Entertainment’s website are anything to go by.

Otherside put up a page featuring the letter S and a countdown clock to some kind of revel. But, thanks to a fan digging through the web page source code, the final page has been revealed early and it says System Shock 3. If that wasn’t enough, clicking the promotions link takes you to a System Shock 3 mailing list. It all seems pretty conclusive.

The team at Otherside is currently working on Underworld Ascendant, a new game in the fantasy RPG series Ultima Underworld. The project was launched on Kickstarter and proved to be highly successful, achieving the required funding for a November 2016 release. In light of this, it does seem likely that System Shock 3 will also be crowdfunded, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
