Proven: your part in the school nativity play has no bearing on your future career

But it's fun to speculate anyway

Those of us who played Mary in the school nativity play like to believe it’s some kind of predictor for fame and fortune in life. To test this theory, I asked Twitter what they were in their school’s Christmas show, and what they are now.

Some of the pairings synced up perfectly:












Sometimes too perfectly…








While some left us questioning what they were doing in the play in the first place:










But mostly, what they played in the school nativity had absolutely no relevance to what they ended up doing in adulthood.






Well, it was a nice theory while it lasted – and we’ll hold out hope for this little guy:


It’s got to be better than playing the holy chicken.
