You could 3D print your own low poly Pokémon

As if we needed more reasons to want a 3D printer

More than once in Gadgette HQ we’ve lamented the fact that we don’t have our own 3D printer. There are so many amazing things we’ve seen made with 3D printers, including Braille picture books and minimalist mobile phones, and so many things we want to make ourselves. Now we can add these low poly Pokémon to the list.

Created by Flowalistik and posted to Youmagine, the line of Pokémon figures are simple but adorable. He’s created the Kanto starters Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle, the Johto starers Totodile, Chikorita, and Cyndaquil, as well as Pikachu, Lapras and Clefairy.

He hasn’t stopped at Pokemon, either; there are designs for a whole host of retro gaming characters including Kirby, Mario, Link, Mega Man, and Donkey Kong. For Star Wars fans there are designs for a low poly Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. You can see some of them being created in the video below:

I honestly can’t choose a favourite, I want them all. And if you have access to a 3D printer, you could have them all since Flowalistik has uploaded all of his design files to Youmagine and made them freely available for download. If, like many, you don’t have access to your own 3D Printer you can always use 3D Hubs, who organised the Pokemon project and took the photos for it, to send the design to your local 3D printers and pick it up when it’s ready. You can see all of Flowalistik’s wonderful designs here.
