Star Trek is getting its own MAC makeup line

Live long and contour

Here at Gadgette we love nerd-branded cosmetics, from Covergirl’s Star Wars line to this entire website dedicated to geek-inspired makeup. One of the best brands for pop culture collections is MAC; they’ve been inspired by everything from Disney villains to Wonder Woman, and the latest franchise they’re celebrating is Star Trek.

To mark Star Trek’s 50th anniversary this September, MAC will be releasing a 25 piece collection with products for lips, eyes, and face inspired by some of the show’s prominent female characters such as Seven of Nine, Deanna Troi, Lt. Uhura, and Vina the Orion.

“Star Trek is an iconic pop culture phenomenon whose storylines pushed gender and racial boundaries,” MAC creative director James Gager said in a statement. “For its 50th anniversary, we celebrate each of Star Trek’s powerful women in a transcending, transformational makeup collection.”

They’ve already revealed some of the products that will be in the line, which you can see here. All those metallics and glitter; we are so ready for this, although we think we’d better get to grips with strobing to really pull off that space-age look.

The collection will launch globally in MAC stores this September, but it’ll also be available to buy online from August 25th. For anyone lucky enough to be attending San Diego’s Comic-Con, there will be a chance to get your hands on the collection even further in advance as it will be featured in an exclusive pre-sale at the Gaslamp MAC store on July 21st.
