So, it’s May the 4th, the day for any Star Wars fan to proudly show their love for their favourite franchise. But how best to do it? Of course you’ll say the puns, you’ll wear the T-shirt, maybe you’ll marathon the films but maybe this year you want to take it further and do something a little different. Well, we’ve got some inspiration for you.
Instagram account Lollypoplocks is well known for its hair competitions. On a regular basis it announces a theme and gives users a set period to upload images of incredible hair styles inspired by this theme for a chance to win. Themes have included Disney, Superheroes and Villains, and, you guessed it, Star Wars. There were dozens of entries for the Star Wars competition but we’ve gathered together out top 10 favourites to give you some hair inspiration this May the 4th.
Inspired by the colour scheme of R2D2 this graduating hair colour has left us beep booping in approval.
9. Padmé Amidala
From Star Wars Episode I, this purple travelling dress, also known as the funeral gown, isn’t one of our favourite Amidala costumes but seeing this hairstyle inspired by it has certainly left us impressed.
8. Millennium Falcon
Using cold metallic hues, this hair style attempts to capture the majesty of the Millennium Falcon. We think it manages it.
7. Darth Maul
We think it’s pretty impressive to be able to make anything inspired by the face of Darth Maul look this good.
We’d never condone creating a hairstyle inspired by Yoda’s actual hair, but this hair style inspired by his poster colour scheme is something we approve of.
5. R2D2 and BB8
Hair inspired by our favourite sassy droids? Yes please. We love the way this colour subtly blends together the orange and blue of BB-8 and R2 because we love them both equally.
4. Darth Vader
Inspired by a classic Darth Vader poster, this hair has left us considering the Dark Side.
3. Padmé Amidala
Padmé Amidala had plenty of costume changes which means plenty of opportunity for hair inspiration. This one inspired by her Senate costume in the Phantom Menace is particularly impressive and probably much easier to wear than the actual hairstyle of the costume.
Simple but incredibly striking and effective, this hairstyle is inspired by the bright red of Darth Vader’s lightsaber against the dark black of his costume.
1. Boba Fett
It really wasn’t that hard to pick our favourite from this competition, would you just look at this? Incredibly cretive with some mind-bogglingly precise colour application this hairstyle inspired by the helmet of Boba Fett has left us in awe.
So, are you ready to use the toner on your hair? We’re considering a Chewbacca look.
