6 things we want this week

The sun is shining through the windows of the Gadgette office and it’s making us feel warm, happy, and definitely in the mood to treat ourselves. Here are the 6 things we want most this week.

Candy Floss Necklace

As far as statement jewellery goes, this is the kind of thing I like to see. Bright, colourful, weird, and wonderful I love these candy floss necklaces not only because they look great but because they make me think of happy summer days spent wandering around theme parks too scared to go on rollercoasters but more than happy to stuff my face with all the sweet sugary things around me. They’re available in pastel shades of pink, blue, and yellow which are perfect for matching bright summer outfits. If candy floss isn’t really your thing, the Fatally Feminine store is filled with jewellery inspired by sweet treats from gummy bears to doughnuts to birthday cakes.

The sun has come out of nowhere and it’s now come to my attention that I’m in desperate need of a good pair of sunglasses if I’m to make it to September with my retinas in good health. I won’t just take any sunglasses though, I want a pair that make me look like my summer days are spent in retro convertibles with my headscarf billowing in the summer breeze as I escape from my most recent successful bank robbery. They also can’t be too expensive because I will inevitably sit on them or lose them. That, of course, means cat eye sunglasses and I love this inexpensive but stylish pair from ASOS.

Uncharted 4

I was excited for Uncharted 4 from the beginning but recent review scores have made me even more desperate to get my hands on it. It must be good, and I can’t wait to get my copy and lock myself away for another cinematic adventure with Nathan Drake; this sun won’t last forever so I’ll need something to keep me occupied when it goes.

Jiji phone case

Jiji, the black cat from Kiki’s Delivery Service, is the best cat ever and anyone who disagrees can fight me. He’s sarcastic, sassy, and just too cute. I’ve got Jiji wall decals and I’ve even made my own Jiji for a Kiki Halloween costume but I just can’t get enough of him so I really want this phone case. Look at the little bow-tie! Lanta Design sell cases for many different models of phone.

Adventure Time All Over Print Leggings

Shmowzow! Look at that! I have a thing for weird leggings but most of mine tend to use designs of the cosmological variety. Part of me finds this Adventure Time design cringe-worthy and the other part says “Mathematical!” If I’m going to wear hideously busy leggings, they might as well feature my favourite characters from the Candy Kingdom and beyond. Needs a bit more Tart Toter though.

8Bitdo Zero Wireless Controller

Some of the things I want to buy are super practical pieces of technology that will make my life easier. Other times it’s like this. The 8Bitdo Zero is a real wireless controller that works with Windows, iOS, and Android games but it’s tiny. It has all the buttons you’d expect from a decent controller and even works as a shutter button for your smartphone camera but it’s just 73 mm in length! Is that practical for a gaming session? Hardly. But look at it! I might use it for the odd smartphone game but really I just want a little controller on my keyring.
